Everything you need to know about Roamza, eSIMs and travelling connected.

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card built into your phone. Instead of inserting a physical SIM, you download a digital profile to your device. It works the same way as a regular SIM — it connects your phone to a mobile network — but without the plastic card.

No. Roamza is a digital eSIM. You receive a QR code by email and install it on your phone — no physical card, no postage, no airport shop visit.

Your eSIM is delivered by email within minutes of payment. You'll receive a QR code, activation instructions, and a link to your order page. Check your inbox (and spam folder) shortly after checkout.

Yes — and we recommend it. Install your eSIM at home over Wi-Fi before you fly. It won't activate or start its validity clock until it connects to a supported network at your destination. That way you're ready to switch on the moment you land.

Most Roamza eSIMs activate when they first connect to a supported network in your destination — not when you buy them. Some plans activate at a fixed time instead. The activation policy for your plan is shown on the plan page and in your order confirmation.

No. Installing the eSIM profile on your phone doesn't activate it. Most plans only activate when the eSIM connects to a local network at your destination. You can safely install at home before you travel.

Roamza covers 190+ countries across Asia, Europe, Oceania, North America, South America, Africa, and the Middle East. Browse our coverage page or search for your destination to see available plans and network details.

Roamza eSIMs are data-only. They don't include traditional voice calls or SMS. You can use WhatsApp, FaceTime, Messenger, and other internet-based calling and messaging apps over the data connection.

Yes. Since Roamza provides a data connection, all internet-based apps work — WhatsApp, Messenger, FaceTime, Skype, Zoom, and any other app that uses data for calls and messages.

Most Roamza plans support hotspot and tethering. Check the plan page before purchasing — hotspot support is listed on every plan. Some fair-use policies may apply to excessive tethering use.

Some plans support top-ups and extensions. If your plan supports it, you'll see a 'Top up' option on your My eSIMs page. Not all plans support top-ups — check the plan details before purchasing.

For unlimited plans, your data doesn't run out — but speeds may reduce after a daily fair-use allowance. For capped plans, data stops when you reach your limit. You can top up if your plan supports it, or purchase a new plan.

Yes. Your Roamza eSIM runs alongside your primary Australian SIM. Keep your primary SIM active for calls and SMS, and use the Roamza eSIM for data. Just make sure Data Roaming is OFF on your primary SIM to avoid charges from your Australian carrier.

Most phones released from 2018 onwards support eSIM — including iPhone XS and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and recent Samsung Galaxy models. Use our compatibility checker to confirm your device, and make sure your phone is carrier-unlocked before travelling.

If your phone is carrier-locked (to Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, etc.), you won't be able to install a Roamza eSIM. Contact your Australian carrier to unlock your phone before travelling. We can't offer a refund where the eSIM can't be installed because your device is network-locked.

Some Roamza plans cover multiple countries (for example, a Europe-wide or Asia-Pacific plan). Check the plan's coverage area on the plan page. If you're visiting multiple countries, look for a regional plan that covers all your destinations.

Refunds are available if your eSIM fails to activate through no fault of your own and we can't resolve it, or if the service is materially unavailable in your destination. Refunds are not available once the eSIM has been activated, if the validity period has expired, or if the issue is caused by device incompatibility. See our Refund Policy for full details.

If you accidentally delete your eSIM profile, email hello@roamza.com.au with your order number. We can resend your activation details so you can reinstall it — as long as the plan hasn't expired and hasn't been fully used.

Email hello@roamza.com.au with your order number and a description of your issue. For technical problems, include your device model and any error messages. We typically respond within one business day. You can also use our contact form on the Support page.
