How to set up your Bali eSIM before departure

A step-by-step guide to installing your Bali eSIM at home over Wi-Fi so it's ready to switch on the moment you land.

Published 2 September 2026 · Updated 13 September 2026 · By Roamza

The best time to set up your Bali eSIM is before you leave home — not at the airport. Here's how.

Step 1: Buy your Bali eSIM

Choose your Bali plan and check out. Within minutes, we'll email your eSIM QR code and installation instructions.

Step 2: Check compatibility

Make sure your phone supports eSIM. Most iPhones from the XS onwards and many recent Androids do. Check your model here before you buy.

Step 3: Install over Wi-Fi at home

Open the email on your phone, scan the QR code, and follow the prompts. Your phone will add the Roamza line alongside your existing SIM. This takes about five minutes.

Step 4: Switch on when you land

Your data doesn't start until you turn on the Roamza line in Bali. So installing early won't use any of your allowance. When you land, switch it on and you're online.

Why set up early?

  • No fiddly setup at the airport
  • You can test everything works before you fly
  • You walk off the plane already connected
  • Your data only starts counting when you activate
